I was talking to one of my good friends a couple of days ago and about halfway through the conversation the topic of this blog came up. See a little over a year ago, I decided that it was time to FOCUS on ME and BringSexTeeBack! In that time I started the blog, I was on the brink of a SHIFT. The shift took me to the Chicago and with the adjustments of starting a new job, traveling often, and trying to adjust to a new environment all by myself I lost focus. In my conversation the other day, it hit me that it was time to get back to bringinsexteeback.
So, I logged into Tumblr and re-read all of the posts that I had placed on the blog in the past with particular attention to my very first blog post entitled “Things I Lost In The Fire” which birthed the #bringinsextee back movement. It helped me focus.
I also saw a post from Valentine’s Day 2012 where I had a short post which simply said Make Room For Love. As I reflect on this Valentine’s Day, it’s time for me to practice what I preached and make room for love.
The question you are probably asking yourself is, what’s in the way? And boy do I have the answer: MissTee…It’s Me. I am my biggest barrier, obstacle, mountain, etc. It is not until I learn to truly love myself by taking care of my needs before the needs of others, embracing who I am flaws and all, and realizing that anything more that self-love is just another blessing from God.
I don’t love myself enough for anyone else to really love me <3 That’s the part that hurts the most…I know God is saying I will not and cannot let love in until you love yourself because back in 2004 I prayed to God that he not put me in another serious relationship until I learned to love myself and for the past 8-9 years that has been my personal struggle. Personally, I am so sick of this script and want to change the course of the story but I honestly don’t know if I know how to.
But what I am going to commit to do is figuring out how because I can’t continue to get in my own way…it’s time to make room for <3.
